Ed Robertson, Host

Ed Robertson is an award-winning, nationally known author, journalist and media analyst. He is the author of several books on television, including
The Fugitive Recaptured, The Ethics of Star Trek and Thirty Years of The Rockford Files. Ed's articles on television appear in The New York Times, The Wave Magazine, Media Life Magazine and other media venues, including Columbia House, where he helped develop many VHS and DVD titles for the popular subscription-based Columbia House Video  Library. Ed is a regular guest on the top-rated Ronn Owens Program (KGO Radio, San Francisco), as well as The Jarrod Thomas Show (KNOX Radio, North Dakota). In addition he has provided regular commentary for the TalkAmerica Radio Network, as well as appeared on such programs as Biography, Showbiz Today and Entertainment Tonight. Ed has also consulted on documentaries produced by NBC, The Biography Channel, E! Entertainment Television and Warner Bros. Home Video, while his comments on television appear in articles for MSNBC.com, USA Today, Forbes.com, E! Online, The Los Angeles Times and other publications.
 

Frankie Montiforte, Co-Host

Frankie Montiforte is a writer and producer who has worked in movie and television production for more than 20 years. His credits include Conan the Barbarian, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. The Blues Brothers, the award-winning feature film Shiloh and the popular CBS TV comedy Newhart. A onetime film historian for Republic Pictures and former co-proprietor of the legendary Silent Movie Theatre, Frankie is a true Hollywood native, born and raised in Beverly Hills, soaking up the history of television and cinema, while living among its best practitioners. His mother worked for Frank Sinatra, while his father owned a successful Beverly Hills women’s clothing store that costumed such stars as Lucille Ball, Linda Evans, Joan Collins and Suzanne Pleshette. Brash, opinionated, yet by no means immodest, Frankie is a wonderful raconteur whose passionate for television and many personal encounters with industry legends are an integral part of the appeal of our show.
 

Tony Figueroa, Contributor

Tony Figueroa is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor and storyteller with extensive experience co-hosting and co-producing radio shows in Los Angeles. Tony’s blog, CHILD OF TELEVISION, is an example of life imitating art (he once wrote a sitcom pilot where the main character happened to write a syndicated column called “Child of Television”). Tony hosts and produces “This Week in Television History,” an engaging look at the people, places and events that continue to shape the TV landscape. Tony’s segment is heard in the first hour of TV Confidential.
 

David Krell, Contributor

David Krell is an attorney, media historian, and communications consultant who has worked in television as a news writer and producer for MSNBC, Fox News Channel and several local TV stations in the New York market. His writings have appeared in Filmfax, Television Chronicles and other publications. He was also a consultant for the recent Museum of TV and Radio exhibit honoring ABC-TV founding president Leonard Goldenson. David’s commentary on all aspects of television is heard on every edition of TV Confidential.
